According to the Innovative Development Program of JSC “OSK” with huge state support JSC “Zvyozdochka” actively develops a new direction – manufacturing of modern propulsion units – that up to now has been manufactured only abroad.
A new stage in this development has become construction of a special assembly and testing workshop for propulsion units. It became possible due to the federal target program “Development of civil marine equipment”. The workshop will be equipped with the unique assembly and testing equipment with the capacity of 10 MW. Travelling cranes will allow transporting large items weighting more than 250 tons with exact accuracy.
JSC “Spetsstroy of Russia” is performing construction works. The new workshop will be situated close to the propeller manufacturing site. The workshop is to be constructed by the end of 2014. Since 2015 there will start construction of phase 2 of the building where it is planned to perform assembly and testing of other propulsion units – adjustable pitch propellers, radial and hydrojet propulsions.
By order of the shipyard the leading educational institution of the region – Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov with active participation of specialists from JSC SC “Zvyozdochka” performs a complex of scientific and technological activities, including working-out of innovative technologies, rigging, test benches and information systems that will allow manufacturing of 60 propulsion units annually.
Starting batch production of propulsion steering units and other propulsion units at JSC SC Zvyozdochka of will allow creating more than 200 new working places and providing shipyards with modern Russian ship propulsion units.
