JSC “PO Sevmash” is planning to participate in Yamal LNG project, claimed Valery Borodin, Manufacturing Director of the company. He said that the construction project owner considers “Sevmash” as one of the most probable partners. “The scope of work during LNG plant construction could be compared to Prirazlomnaya platform construction”. The plant is a structure of more than 120 module blocks that will be necessary to construct during 3-4 years. One such module could be compared in size and work scope with superblocks of marine ice-resistant platform. The weight of one such structure – from three to five thousand tons”, - Valery Borodin said.

Famous foreign companies would like to participate in the project. However, “Sevmash” has absolute advantages such as: territorial closeness to Uzhno-Tambeyskoye gas field where the plant will be, possibility for storage of ready modules at the territory of “Sevmash”. Experience in oil and gas branch, qualified personnel able to work with cold-resistant steel and special equipment for northern latitudes are of great significance.

At the end of May the delegation of Yamal LNG is planning to visit “Sevmash” in order to evaluate cooperation possibilities.
