Rosneft JSC has started seismic surveys on the license areas Fedynsky and Central-Barents, explored jointly by Rosneft and its project partner – Eni, the largest Italian company.

It is planned to perform 2D seismic survey of 9950 line km in two license areas using a shipborne gravitation magnetometry. Data will be gathered simultaneously using a complex of geophysical methods.

At present ecological and fish industry surveys are being finished in the areas.

Rosneft performs geological surveys in the Barents Sea according to all the requirements, the RF legislation and license agreements.  Ecological monitoring and industrial control programs will be performed during the seismic survey.

Geological survey is done by Rosneft’s subsidiaries – RN-Shelf-Arctic and RN-Shelf-Far East together with Eni. The company has a long experience of conducting seismic surveys in the North and pays much attention to emergency and incident prevention in the sphere of industrial and ecological safety.
