Year 1994 saw the revival of civil ship repair line of
                                                                                      work – trawlers, seiners, hydrographic vessels, icebreak-
                                                                                      ers. Of special interest is project 50010 series of freezer
                                                                                      trawlers built by Zvyozdochka for Arkhangelsk-based
                                                                                      customers. The current project under construction is
                                                                                      four trawlers 20180: three of them have delivered to the
                                                                                      customer. Zvyozdochka has the capacity for producing
                                                                                      drilling platform supply vessels, rescue ships, tug boats
                                                                                      and research vessels.
                                                                                         A new and promising line of work for Zvyozdochka
                                                                                      is subsea production complexes. The shipyard is prepared
                                                                                      to master their production, having made progress that
                                                                                      took its overseas colleagues years to make.
                                                                                         Krasnaya Kuznitsa

                                                                                         Zvyozdochka’s branch in Arkhangelsk, shipyard
                                                                                      Krasnaya Kuznitsa is a successor to two oldest ship re-
                                                                                      pair yards in Russia – Defense Ministry’s Ship Repair
                                                                                      Yard 176 and Krasnaya Kuznitsa. The company traces its
                                                                                      history back to 1693. It was here, in its original location,
                                                                                      that the nation’s first naval ship was constructed, ordered
                                                                                      by Peter the Great.
                                                                                         The core activities of Krasnaya Kuznitsa include dock
                                                                                      repairs, shipbuilding, manufacturing and assembly of
                                                                                      structures made of sheet and sectional metal, manufac-
                                                                                      turing of mechanical engineering parts, and marine en-
                                                                                      gine repair. Dock repair services are provided to ships
                                                                                      as heavy as 9,000 DWT on a year-round basis, spanning
                                                                                      inspection for defects, repair of hull structures and sea
                                                                                      valves, propeller-rudder system and piping, cleaning and
                                                                                      painting of hulls, interior spaces and tanks.
                                                                                         The yard has three floating docks with a load capac-
                                                                                      ity of 860 to 9,000 tons, length of 74.5 to 149.1 meters and
                                                                                      width of 10.6 to 34.5 meters. The berthing line for ships
                                                                                      and floating facilities is 1,200 m long and has a draft of
                                                                                      4 to 7 meters.
                                                                                         Today, Krasnaya Kuznitsa has the capacity for con-
                                                                                      structing tugboats, passenger ships, barges, ferries, pon-
                                                                                      toons, floating berths, floating bridges, and metal struc-
                                                                                      tures for various purposes. The company has engineering
                                                                                      recognition certificates from the Russian Maritime Reg-
                                                                                      ister of Shipping and the Russian River Register.
                                                                                          In recent years, the yard has built harbor tugs Baken
                                                                                      and Buoy (project 05Tm, own design), two harbor tugs
                                                                                      (project  05Tu,  also  own  design),  self-propelled  barge
                                                                                      Pyramid  (project  2453),  pilot  ship Vavchuga  (project
                                                                                      P1760M).

                                                                                         Arktika
                                                                                         Russia’s largest electrical engineering company,
                                                                                      Northern Production Association Arktika provides full
                                                                                      range of electrical installation and adjustment services,
                                                                                      that also include testing and repair of complex electronic
                                                                                      systems and equipment.
                                                                                         Over the years of its existence (the company was
                                                                                      founded in 1952), Arktika teams have participated in
                                                                                      the construction, repair and modernization of more
                                                                                      than 300 warships and civilian watercraft, including die-
                                                                                      sel and nuclear submarines, surface ships, auxiliary ci-
                                                                                      vilian vessels, and offshore structures. They performed a
                                                                                      full range of electrical installation works for the coastal
                                                                                      infrastructure of Kharyaginsky and Ardalinsky oil fields.
                                                                                      Arktika’s products are installed at cosmodromes Plesetsk
                                                                                      and Baikonur.
                                                                                         While cooperating with Sevmash during the con-
                                                                                      struction of Prirazlomnaya and Arkticheskaya plat-
                                                                                      forms, Zvyozdochka has demonstrated high production
                                                                                      potential and competence also as a provider of warran-
                                                                                      ty and post-warranty service. Those two projects helped
                                                                                      to strengthen the cooperation ties with design organiza-
                                                                                      tions and equipment suppliers, as well as master mod-
                                                                                      ern technologies in the field of electrical installation and
                                                                                      commissioning.
                                                                                         Today, Arktika has a staff of 4,500 people. Head-
                                                                                      quartered in Severodvinsk, it has subsidiaries in Sne-
                                                                                      zhnogorsk, Murmansk, Sevastopol and Kaliningrad,
